Hip Hop has went through a lot of evolutions over the years.  I know art is not always pretty, yet the current state of Hip Hop as a genre is problematic...

THE BOILERMAKER LP is my attempt to bring Hip Hop back to a grassroots level.  I took ideas from Booker T Washington's book, UP FROM SLAVERY, and worked them into the album's concept.  I was heavily influenced by Martin Luther Kings Jr's POOR PEOPLE CAMPAIGN, which started in Memphis,TN- an economic plan to bring financial resources to Afrikans in America.   

Also, I realize my duty to teach others to maintain Hip Hip as a cultural outlet and not a corporate minstrel show.  My perspective is Blue-collar and honestly hardcore.  I created an atmosphere where the various artists could radiate with creativity and be honest...it is definitely a Hip Hop album.
